About Us
Wendy: I'm a certified technician and technician instructor via Safe Kids, which is a national certification. I've been doing carseat checks since 2006, have been a Senior Checker since March 2011, and an instructor since February 2014. In July 2014 I took training on how to transport children with special health care needs. In the summer of 2018 I traveled to Denver and while there I became trained in School Bus safety. In December of 2020 I became certified in the EU and UK via the Institute of Occupational Safety (IOSH).
I have worked with Safe Kids Eastside, Safe Kids King County - South, Car Safe Kids, and Safe Kids Wake County (NC). However, I am an independent technician, and during private checks, group checks, and non-technician classes I do not represent anyone but myself.
I am the mother of two children and have been passionate about child passenger safety since my older daughter, Piper, was born in 2002.
Piper: I'm certified technician via Safe Kids, as well as through IOSH in the EU/UK. I started doing carseat checks with my mom in the spring of 2020, though I had been helping at public check events before that. I'vee been certified for less than a year, but I've already helped more than two dozen families. I am very familiar with virtual checks as well as in-person ones.
I have been interested in child passenger safety for as long as I can remember, and I look forward to helping people stay safe in the future.
